Hinckley
Maine boatbuilding since 1928; the jet-drive Picnic Boat since 1994.
Hinckley began in Southwest Harbor, Maine, and for most of its history built sailing yachts, the Bermuda 40 above all. The Picnic Boat of 1994, a Downeast lobster-boat profile with waterjets and a joystick, changed the company and the American day-boat market with it.
The current range is composite, mostly jet-driven and mostly under 20 metres. Varnish and teak are part of the ownership, and a listing’s photographs will show how recently they were attended to.
